FOR HOSPITALS

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation provides urgently required medical equipment for Neonatal Units and Paediatric Wards in public hospitals and health services Australia-wide.

MAKE AN APPLICATION

Making an application for equipment is easy. We just need a few things from you:

  • A current quote - Only if the equipment is absent from Humpty’s current list of pre-approved equipment, and if the equipment requires a specific configuration and/or accessories.
  • Background information on your health service and the demographics of the region where your health service resides.
  • The rationale for your equipment request, and a description of its use within the health service.
  • A nominated relevant approver of the submission in line with regular hospital equipment approvals. (This colleague will receive an email asking for review and approval of your submission.)

THINGS TO CONSIDER

All applications will go through a preliminary check to ensure all fields and attachments (JPEG, PDF and/or Word) have been accurately completed prior to being submitted to our Medical Program Advisory Committee for review. Forms that are incomplete will not be submitted.

Please note that each type of equipment request needs to be submitted separately. You are welcome to request multiple items.

Humpty’s Medical Program Advisory Committee considers ALL requests for equipment that promises to improve health outcomes for babies and children.

SUBMISSIONS FOR EQUIPMENT ARE ACCEPTED AT ANY TIME

A public hospital or health service with a high-priority need for children’s medical equipment submits a request for assistance to Humpty by completing the Humpty Dumpty Foundation
online application.

YOU’VE MADE A SUBMISSION. WHAT NEXT?

Hospitals may check the status of their submission online.

The requesting hospital contact and nominated approver will be notified via email when a decision is made regarding the outcome of your submission request. You will also be notified via email if/when the equipment gets funded.

If approved, the item gets placed on Humpty’s Wish List, available for supporters to donate year-round. Humpty’s Wish List is featured on this website and in Humpty publications, including the bi-annual Good Egg Magazine, distributed nationally via various local and metropolitan newspapers. Certain Wish List items also get featured in specific event Wish Lists for Humpty events, such as the Balmoral Burn and Great Humpty Ball.

If, for some reason, your hospital no longer requires the approved equipment, you must notify Humpty immediately so that the item gets removed.

For each item funded, Humpty purchases the equipment directly from the medical equipment supplier (as nominated on your application) and co-ordinates the delivery to your hospital/health service on behalf of the donor.

Humpty will organise a plaque in consultation with the donor to affix to the donated equipment. This plaque is posted to the hospital or health service and must be affixed. It is paramount that the hospital informs Humpty when the equipment is received, and the donor plaque attached. This is vital for our records and will assist us in organising donor tours and visits to the recipient hospital.

We ask that you pass on feedback and photos of the donated equipment for Humpty to share with the donor(s) and the greater Humpty community. This helps us to celebrate the support of 'Good Eggs' and connect the community with Humpty’s vital work. Please view our information document regarding feedback and photos.

FAQ

Humpty generally only donates equipment to public hospitals. Although, we encourage you to reach out to our Wish List team, and we can determine if your health service fits within our scope of support.

Funded items are solely dependent on donor selection and funding capabilities. Some pieces added to the Wish List are donated in a day, while others take 12 months.

Due to extensive international delivery delays, larger pieces of equipment can take up to nine months. Generally, smaller equipment donations get delivered within a month.

Yes. Please reach out to our Communications team on 02 9419 2410 to approve wording and images when promoting a donation.

We are supplier agnostic and aim to fund equipment hospitals identify as necessary within their departments. We understand that keeping consistency amongst equipment is key to efficiency and safe patient care; therefore, we are happy to review equipment from all suppliers.

No. We ask that if you submit for equipment through Humpty, this is the only space the equipment gets advertised for funding. This way, a double up is prevented should a donor be found through both advertising spaces.

The hospital takes responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of donated equipment once delivered. Humpty has no ownership, and the equipment must be used as intended.

No. Humpty will not support the donation of consumable products unless included in the initial purchase of equipment.

Requests for furniture and fittings will not be supported by Humpty unless there is a compelling rationale to justify Humpty’s involvement, plus a clear alignment with our purpose as a Foundation.

Please login to the submissions portal and cancel the submission ASAP. Alternatively, feel free to email medical@humpty.com.au to cancel your application.
