Product description

Jaundice is very common in newborn babies, especially in the first few days after birth. It causes the baby’s skin to appear yellow, due to a natural substance in the blood called bilirubin. While mild jaundice often clears up on its own, high levels left untreated can lead to serious health problems, including hearing loss and delays in development. To detect jaundice early, nurses use a small handheld jaundice meter. This device gently presses a probe against the baby’s skin, and a jaundice reading is displayed on the screen. The process is quick, painless, and highly accurate, helping doctors decide if treatment is needed. Most importantly, it reduces the need for painful blood tests on the baby, easing stress for both babies and their parents.
