Ray Martin, Humpty's Patron, and Paul Francis, Founder & Chairman, joined me on Afternoons with Deborah Clay to talk about Humpty's history and the importance of their work to hospitals and health services across the country especially in regional areas.
What would you do if you got a phone call out of the blue and the person on the other end gave you $1 million? Well, if you're Paul Francis, the founder and chairman of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, you sit down in shock and you probably don't get back up on your feet for several hours.
That phone call came from Bob, who decided he had no interest in being the richest man in the cemetery. And because he could, he gave to charities that he believed in.
That charity was the Humpty Dumpty Foundation. It's dedicated to buying medical equipment to help sick children for hospitals around the country. That act of charity not only has helped children in the remote Northern Territory town of Katherine but it's also left Bob feeling pretty good.
Joining me today in the studio is Australian television legend and journalist Ray Martin, and executive chairman and founder of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, Paul Francis.
