As seen on Sky News, Paul Murray Live. Humpty plays a crucial role in saving children's lives every day in around 500 hospitals and health services across Australia. This is made possible by the generous donation of urgently needed medical equipment via Humpty's Wish List. Paul Murray’s latest regional fundraiser is to raise funds for the Port Lincoln Hospital and the Local Area Health District in South Australia. The hospital has an urgent need for the following equipment: Bilisoft LED Phototherapy System - $12,330 each x 2 Jaundice is a common but if left untreated, life-threatening and serious condition for newborns. The BiliSoft LED Phototherapy System has varied uses to treat Neonatal Jaundice. With the BiliSoft system, there is no barrier to maternal-infant bonding as the baby can be nursed in the bassinet, fed, and held throughout the phototherapy treatment without the need for an overhead light. Symphony Breast Pumps with stand - $3,470 each x 6 Supporting new mothers to breastfeed to ensure newborns receive the best start to life is critical. The breast pumps will be used by lactating mothers to stimulate breast milk supply and to express extra breast milk for babies to help them thrive. Bedside iPad to consult with specialist care in Adelaide – approx. $2,000 x 1 Port Lincoln is a 7-hour drive from Adelaide and the closest tertiary women’s and children’s health services. Port Lincoln Hospital clinical teams rely on support from specialists in Adelaide and having an iPad at the bedside will enable real-time telehealth support for emergency paediatric cases. Children get sick all over Australia. In metropolitan areas, a hospital may be just down the road. But for regional and remote communities, the closest hospital could be many hours away. The right equipment, in the right place, at the right time, can mean a child receives care close to home instead of transferring to a larger hospital far away.
